What we developed
App overview
Arterio is a mobile application for patients with hypertension and cardiovascular risks. The app provides a convenient way to record, monitor, and share blood pressure measurements, helping patients and doctors make timely, informed decisions about treatment and medication.

How we did it
Project overview
- Problem
The project was driven by a clear problem: people with high blood pressure face serious health risks, yet a lot of them don’t have it under control. Furthermore, those who do measure their BP regularly, oftentimes still track their readings on paper, which leads to mistakes and bias.
Meanwhile accurate and regular measurements are indispensable for timely detection and treatment of anomalies.
- Our solution
We started with interviewing cardiologists to define the main needs and challenges of our target audience — patients and doctors. Based on the findings, we created 4 persona profiles and 4 empathy maps.
Then we developed design prototypes, accounting for different personas’ peculiarities (e.g. font readability). After the prototypes were approved, we developed the solution that featured:
– Human‑centered design: accessibility for all user groups, including elderly patients.
– Automated data capture: integration with electronic blood pressure monitors via Bluetooth reduced human error.
– Manual entry support: patients could still add readings manually when needed.
– Data visualization: graphs and trend analysis improved understanding of health dynamics.
– Secure sharing: patients could share measurement history with doctors, enabling more accurate prescriptions and timely interventions.
- Workflow
We followed the standard Agile approach with structured sprints. We used Jira for task management and progress tracking.
