What we did
Project overview
- Challenge
Operating in the medical data processing area, our client witnessed a problem — a data gap between patients and healthcare providers.
Patients had their medical records scattered across various sources, sometimes in paperwork. Thus, they had to collect them before visiting a doctor, which wasn’t always easy. Sometimes it could be impossible overall because the records could get damaged or lost.
All of this reduced healthcare quality since doctors couldn’t see the full picture and sometimes had to rely on a patient’s memory. Or they prescribed additional assessments, which prolonged hospital visits.
- Our solution
There was already a solid foundation — a certified eHealth backend platform we previously developed for our client. We just had to build on top of it.
Our team gathered the requirements, designed the architecture and prepared a prototype. After the client’s approval, the developers started implemeting the full-scale solution. We set up CI/CD delivery workflows that enabled faster feature rollout and predictable release cycles.
The result was a custom web portal for patients and clinics. It featured:
– secure authorization via Google or DigiD.
– appointment setting.
– manual entry and management of health-related data (medical assessments, illness history, care plans, medicine intolerance, personal measurements, etc.).
– automatic data exchange with other hospitals and wearable devices.
– adding people to a patient’s network to discuss care plans together with doctors.
- Workflow
The development team operated fully remotely, following Agile methodology with structured sprints and bi-weekly demos to ensure continuous feedback and alignment. Transparent communication and progress tracking were maintained through Jira for task management and Slack for daily collaboration.
